quote:
“To take away the Affordable Care Act is taking away my freedom and justice,” said Evan Thornton, a 21-year-old St. Petersburg College student who said he was diagnosed with Marfan Syndrome at 16 and has stayed on his mother’s insurance because of Obamacare. “It’s taking away my life.”

For fun, replace the words 'ACA' with the following and adjust the age appropriately:
Social Security
Social Security

it's not mindlessness
it's selfishness
it's selfishness

Well before ACA how would a 21 year old student stay on their parents plan? I mean, I did when I was 21 in 1996, but how would this guy have managed to?

When in doubt, lie to try to substantiate your position.

He wouldnt have, he would not have been able to afford it and would have died because he couldnt afford the drugs used to treat his chronic condition.

Not trying to be a dick, but I don't know Evan, nor do I care to know Evan. I do know that I pay almost 18,000 dollars a year for insurance when I use to pay around 5,400 for a much better plan. So he is taking 12,000 dollars a year out of my children's (3) college fund and my retirement fund. In other words, GFY Evan.

He can add student insurance to his fee bill and pay like everyone else in the real world.

These snowflakes living in their parent's basement at 30 aren't in the real world.

Well, Marfans is a legitimate and shitty disease, but removing Obamacare doesn't necessarily mean he won't be insured. Not sure what he means by freedom and justice. Why is he not free and who is he avenging?

When I was a college student, I was able to stay on parents' plan the entire time I was in school. I didn't need the ACA to do that. All the ACA has done for working Americans is to substantially increase their premiums.

Is it ironic the OP misspelled "mindlessness"?

1) that is bullshite
2)a simple solution is destroy the big pharma lobby, and get rid of Obama care. 90% of the problem fixed.
Or we can go with option 3 and say natural selection/darwinism.

Can't tell me a dude with Marfans doesn't know how to make things stretch...;)

Completely not true, buddy of mine is 42, the state covers a lot of it.

Same here. As long as I was a full time student, I was on my parents plan. The ACA hasn't done anything but cost me more money.

Why do you think this kid is taking the money as opposed to CEOs of insurance companies? Divide and conquer, the politicians' way.
