This Modern World Cartoon.
It's a good one today.

funny thing is that our founders detested a political class or professional politician. They would actually admire Trump because he was a successful businessman outsider.

Did you make that yourself?
Lame as frick.

Taking that loss hard huh?

Even I think that cartoon is weak.

The founders would have asked time-traveling Hillary to make them a sandwich.

Yep, those stogey founders would HATE it if a lifelong eccentric businessman was President. You know who wouldn't have anything good to say about him? That timid, reserved, life-long politician John Hancock! Or that known chaste gentleman Ben Franklin!

An attack on the obvious wholesome goodness of Trump, the Electoral College, and the Founding Fathers, all at the same time. Impressively wrong.

Walt, I'm not going to put this lightly, you seem like you're taking the election like a bitch.

I've never been a fan of "this mirrors my political beliefs so it must be funny." Nope.
Some of it is lazy comedy - I'll pander and they'll give me some laughs without regard with whether it is funny.

Sorry, I gave some of you too much credit. The Founding Fathers absolutely wanted power to rest in the hands of the elite. One theory holds that the Washingtons, Jeffersons, Randolphs, Lees, Adams and Pinckneys took over the revolution lest it go the way of the nascent French Revolution. So this is a pretty funny cartoon.
But it went over your heads.

Um. I think you guys are misinterpreting the cartoon and the crazy old UT fan.
He's a conservative ex-Navy guy if I recall correctly.

Pretty lame attempt at humor, IMO.
Beyond the juxtaposition of future and past sensibilities -an extremely common trope, there is complete absence of wit.
The attempt at irony could easily be from a reverse direction; meaning that irony is technically absent.
On a funny scale of all numbers, I give this publication's funniness quotient of 'i' -the square root -1.

Good point. Franklin was the one of the biggest swordsmen of the 18th century.

You have no idea what you're talking about. But I'm here to help. The Founders wanted elites to rule in the sense of landowners, white people and men. If only landowners, white people and males voted in November Trump would have won with 70% of the vote.
The Founders were AGAINST career politicians BIGLY. That = Hillary Clinton.
