The Republicans have run against Obamacare since the day it was passed in 2009. They have threatened to overturn it, de-fund it, and scale it back. This spending bill fully funds Obamacare just as it was passed. Dozens of Republicans voted for a spending bill that fully funds the program they despise. Obama recently subverted the U.S. Constitution once again with his latest executive order allowing illegal immigrants to stay in the U.S. and enjoy our wonderful welfare system. The Republicans were morally outraged and their response was to fund Obama’s executive order to the tune of $2.5 billion. There’s $948 million for the Department of Health and Human Service’s unaccompanied children program — an $80 million increase. The department also gets $14 million to help school districts absorbing new immigrant students. And the State Department gets $260 million to assist Central American countries from where of the immigrant children are coming.

What if Congress is actually in touch with what the rest of the country wants and you (mostly) Southern, conservative white males are the ones who are actually out of touch with reality?

Just pointing out this is all a show.

That's from a Californian posting on Daily KOS. No idea on her race but she's not from the South and the fact that her post is still up on KOS proves she's far from a Conservative.

Blha, blha blha.

Facts, out of the 60 Senators who voted for Obamacare 30 have lost their seat.

That is a hell of a turnover in a time when Senate seats are hardly in in jeopardy anymore.

I think the Republicans want to change things about the law that NEEDS TO BE CHANGED, and if you piss the president off, he probably will veto your bills, so I think they are going to try and get along with and work with him, as best they can. In politics you have to have a give and take.

We can do away with it in full, when we win the 2016 elections.

“Cruz and Lee derailed a bipartisan agreement on procedure Friday night. Their actions removed the only major obstacle to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., confirming several minor Obama nominations that Republicans strongly opposed. Because Republicans lacked the votes to block the nominations in question, their best and only leverage was to insist on the use of all debate time, running out the clock on the lame duck Congress. It seemed likely that Democratic senators would not tolerate losing their Christmas just so that Obama could get his surgeon general confirmed.

“Cruz’s and Lee’s parliamentary freelancing gave Reid all he needed to advance the schedule by two full days and guarantee the confirmation of these nominations. In exchange for making Reid’s job easy on ramming the nominations through, all Cruz and Lee got was a symbolic floor vote against Obama’s executive action on immigration. It drew the support of only 22 senators. One reason was that if it had succeeded, their motion would not have prevented Obama’s executive action but, rather, would have killed the underlying omnibus bill and caused a government shutdown.”

If they are representing the will of the people (polls would show otherwise though) then there would be no need to lie about what they stand for.

It's a brilliant Republican strategy to win Moderates and Hispanics, for the '16 Presidential election. When Jeb Bush gets in with the Republican Congress...he'll straighten this stuff out!

None of that spending has anything to do with his "executive order", which isn't technically an EO in the first place.

Defunding is something only the nuts have threatened to do. Obviously the smart one know that that would be a terrible way to overturn it.

The vote they got (the 74-22 vote) was only a procedural vote on a point of order. The vote taken never even addressed funding Obama's executive action on immigration. Cruz simply tried to use such an inconsequential procedural vote as some sort of litmus test which didn't actually exist. The point of order vote stopped the possibility of such a vote of substance in its tracks. It was the ultimate act of tactical futility, and, in the end, a giant nothingburger.

conservative does NOT mean "small govt" and

Republican does not mean opposite of Democrat. People are confused by news and radio shows that tell them this then when the truth is revealed they simply "switch off" and go about business as usual, (ironically, much like the politicians they have voted for).
