The West is getting ready for a war.

They are:
Bring all citizens home and canceling flights to Russia
Cutting off all financial ties.
Building up troops on the borders.
Labeling Putin as a mad/nuclear man.
You wonder why Putin hasn't really committed to taking Ukraine yet?
The sanctions/lines in sand are all but but turned on and there will soon be nothing else to do but....

The endgame is Ukraine back in the Russian sphere of influence and everything returns to normal.

Possible. But it is more likely to come from someone more hardline than Putin as opposed to the "liberals" of the country.

One, no one in Europe has the balls to attack Russia. They’ll try and talk America into it. Why send German or Belgian kids to die if you can talk the Americans into it?
