Geographically, Donald J. Trump won most of the land area of the United States. A country consisting of areas he won retains more than 80 percent of the nation’s counties.

While Trump country is vast, its edges have been eroded by coastal Democrats, and it is riddled with large inland lakes of Clinton voters who were generally concentrated in dense urban areas.
quote:

Hillary Clinton overwhelmingly won the cities, like Los Angeles, Chicago and New York City, but Mr. Trump won many of the suburbs, isolating the cities in a sea of Republican voters.

Mrs. Clinton’s island nation has large atolls and small island chains with liberal cores, like college towns, Native American reservations and areas with black and Hispanic majorities. While the land area is small, the residents here voted for Mrs. Clinton in large enough numbers to make her the winner of the overall popular vote.

One party consists of coastal elites and minorities, the other represents the other 85% of the country.

Well, the bad news is I'm in Clinton's America. The good news is it looks like I live a few minutes from the beach now.

Looks like the popular vote is tied to largest urban areas.

By left leaning do you mean; incredibly dependent on welfare, lowest literacy rates in the nation, and therefore easily controlled by government handouts and propaganda? If so then yes.

So glad I moved from the Selma Sea, AL area 25+ years ago.

The Gulf Coast of AL is a MAGA destination area and a great place to raise a family.

This whole, stamping of the feet, pouting, it's not fair, but but she had more total popular votes, it's not fair, protest and etc. Needs to be put to rest. The current POTUS and Hillary need to come out and denounce the violence, denounce the city disruption caused by the protest, denounce the racist etc. Rhetoric and call upon their supporters to support the POTUS Elect. It's their job to stand firm and stop the nonsense. This PC, can't hurt feelings, participation trophy crap has completely gone insane.
