It took me a while to understand the analogy, Jt; didn't until I really thought about it. A 'dog whistle' is a sound that ONLY the dogs hear. I.e., if one holds a particular (Ideological) viewpoint...then one 'hears' a particular comment accordingly.

I like it. Spot on really. More apt to fit the Right - because PC has forced many individuals 'underground' re their real opinions - whereas Progs are openly boisterous re their own extremist viewpoints.

Fascinating times. Humanity moving forward. The hard way.

I think certain rhetoric while having some legitimate basis is best avoided because it agitates some negative segments of humanity. The cost of that type of language is what we see today. For years we've avoided using the language trump deployed during his run.

On the flip side, while I don't give a frick about statues, the removal of them has had the same negative impact. It has agitated the worst in people and has led to violence. The societal cost of removal has proven greater than any benefit. If they were left in place the worst outcome would likely be some angry editorials and poorly attended protests to remove.

I.E. It's total bullshite and a group can make up something and claim it's what a group they don't like is "hearing".

True, Cw. Kinda like doing a Poll and asking Americans is they thing Blacks should be hired in Public Jobs on the basis of 'Affirmative Action/'Reparations'...or on the basis or Merit. With a common standard regardless of Race; like they do in Professional Sports.

Just talking openly re the above "agitates some negative segments of humanity"; the question then becomes what effect is worse on societal unity...just IMPOSING the Policy (above)...or honestly talking/arguing it's merits. Obama chose the former via EOs/Bureaucratic Mandate; the effects (of meritless/Racialist-biased policy) will be less ably managed than the Executive implementation therein. It's called 'unintended consequences'; and can be a bitch.

We'll get there.

This is the best analysis I have seen on the current state of things and my exact feelings.
