I'll theoretically allow that the Republican party moving further to the right isn't necessarily a bad thing.

The bad part about it is the unwillingness to compromise. Without compromise or the ability to work with members of Congress that don't hold the same political point of view then the ability to accomplish anything of real significance is severely limited if not impossible.

That's a canard though. Compromise in government terms means do what we, the establishment, want. I don't believe the tea party won't compromise. What they won't do, at least for now, is compromise on their raison d'être.

Is the Tea Party an actual Party? If so, who is their leader? Who is their primary candidate?
I don't think they are a party at all rather a movement disgusted with the wrong turn the Republican Party made while succumbing to Lefty pressure. They are called the Tea Party seeing themselves somewhat analogous to the Boston incident. That was pivotal in history.
Someone claimed they are hijacking fiscal conservatives. If that were true then the fiscal conservatives had better exercise themselves or they'll continue to spiral out of control. American politics as a whole has spun out of control.

Its an ideology, not a formal party. That makes it harder to fight.

Yep, spot on. The one defined and codified in the Constitution. And the one that Obama/Progressives want to "fundamentally change".

Two basic concepts. The Individual has the right over the fruits of their labor...or the Government - as defined by the will of the majority - has the first right to the fruits of each individual's labor in order to *equitably* 'spread the wealth around'.

Not rocket science...and if history is true...won't be decided by a vote. Because a vote ends up being two wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner.

Earth 2014. Fascinating. But will probably hurt.

True tiger your exactly right, the tea party isn't a ' party' and I'm sure the guys in this thread putting it down has never been to a tea party gathering. These career politicians are scared to death of us. We will be taking more seats come 2014. We aren't going away. Matter of fact were getting larger and stronger. And when people like Schumersays shite like this it just makes us stronger. As for as people like Ted Cruz causing gridlock in DC. Thank god they are!
Oh and I suggest some of you go out to a tea party gathering and meet some of the finest people you will ever meet. People who truly care about the future of America. And Assholes like Schumer ,could care less about America as long as he and his pals keep getting paid. frick him.

I just saw the thread you started on Tea Party policy ideas.

You dont even fundamentally understand something you are so vehemently criticizing. You are basically just repeating Characterizations the media, dems and establishment GOPers have put out there.

There is no platform. There is no Tea Party national convention. The Tea Party is NOT AN ACTUAL POLITICAL PARTY.

I went to Beck's meeting up on the Washington Mall, R...back before the 'group' even had a name. Not a stick of trash left after close to a half-million people left. A group of America's finest...not a doubt. Didn't see a SINGLE individual that I would resist as a neighbor.

And one thing is for SURE...they won't be "crushed" by Schumer...or any 'mob rule' vote of an ignorant or misguided electoral majority. And that is what sends Schumer and the Progs...over the rational edge. How dare they rattle the sabres and reject the will of the majority. Majority Commies, slackers and heathen nws.

Historical time.

The Tea Party is full of crotchety, racist, ignorant, old morons.

That said, I hope they stick around forever. They'll keep the Democrats in the White House , which is marginally better than the Republicans.

That's just it - the principles this country was founded on - aka white male supremacy - aren't all good. The Constitution has been amended on numerous occasions in a manner which takes the nation away from these founding "principles".

On the other hand, the princple of the Boston Tea Party seems to escape the Tea Party - that of taxation without representation being wrong. The Tea Party opposes taxation with representation - yet strangely I have yet to hear of a single one of them opposing the taxation without represenation occuring in Washington, D.C.
