The Speech John Kasich Never Gave & Trump Hopefully Never Forgets

Most people have probably forgotten about this, but my hope is that President Trump thinks about it every day. Ohio Governor John Kasich, anticipating (and rooting for) a Trump defeat on November 8, had planned to go to Washington two days later and give a speech about the future of the GOP. Surely it would've been the first shot fired in anticipation of the 2020 election.
But the much bigger point, to me, was that Kasich was going to take this event as an opportunity to officially bury a defeated Trump. No doubt, this was going to be the GOP equivalent of President Ford's address to the nation, upon succeeding Nixon, when he began by saying "Our long national nightmare is over."
Here's why I think Trump should remind himself of "the speech that never was" every single day of his presidency. If Trump had lost, and if Kasich had given his speech burying Trump, surely the GOP Establishment would've been front-and-center, listening & approving every second of it. McConnell, Ryan, McCain, Graham, etc. John Boehner would not have been there, but he would've been cheering on every word from a distance.
I have no way of knowing, but I pray that Trump thinks about this every day. The GOP Establishment was never for Trump, and they're merely forced to tolerate him now.
Do what's best for the American people, President Trump. Don't trust these Establishment hacks.

It's why Trump chumming up to Paul Ryan and declaring war on the members of the Freedom Caucus is so perplexing and disappointing.

Kasich and those you listed need to go camping and never return to civilization....they are a plight on the American people.
DJT ran as an Outsider and needs to govern as an Outsider and let the chips fall where they may
Too bad if the GOP and Dems have it tough for four to eight years

Indeed.
It makes no sense to me ... and is extremely disappointing.

I don't like it either, but I think I understand it at least. He's doing what successful business people do. He picked the team that he thinks can be the most successful and is going all in with them.
He just didn't pick the team I would have picked. I hope for our sake he is right.

Is the link supposed to be a copy of the speech? Because it didn't work for me.

The link isn't working for me, either.
No, it isn't a copy of the speech. My guess is that Kasich shredded that speech the night Trump won. It was just an article denoting that Kasich had cancelled his speech. I only linked it bc I figured some here probably didn't even know that Kasich had planned to give such a speech.
