But I have to live in reality, so if Trump improves the country or my life in the short term, I'll give him credit.

Question. You truly believe that Trump cares for the plebeians?

Trump just tapped into your angst.

You would have elected Nick Saban, Les Miles, or Hugh Freeze (at the time) if they ran on a drain the swamp platform. Only difference is two of these might have done it... and two (counting Trump) wouldn't have the moral capacity to do what they speak.

A question I will toss out to the board; can President Trump issue Congressional term limits by executive order?

No.

Requires a constitutional amendment.

Oh, that's right, government isn't corrupt and crony capitalism doesn't exist...and never has throughout history.

If you want to live in your safe place and pretend these things don't exist, that's your business.

selection of a nonpolitician to our nation's highest office

He hasn't behaved all that "non-political" since getting into the office.

He's closer to being a third party that is similar to the Republican Party in some aspects, than being "non-political"

It's going to workout the same way for me as it's going to workout for you. The only difference is that you will feel that your state is somehow better because you are,"awoke!"
By the way, what are you doing to change America's situation besides chatting on the internet?

Exactly. And that's the problem. If you want to be willfully ignorant, why should I have to pay for it?

It's the same with the lazy and the worthless. Why should I have to pay for that?

Even if he could use an executive order the next president would overturn that almost immediately when that person would get into office.

The president doesn't have the power to do this. However, no president would overturn it because it would inflate the power of the executive branch over congress.

Trump should have simple bills drafted and put the vote on public display. For example, social Security, simple bill removing politicians from the golden parachute and put back into the same system as the population. Yeah or nay. Same with term limits, etc, etc. Remove the escapability of the massive bills they put forward for just that reason
