Visuals are uniquely powerful. They rearrange and reorient our thinking in ways that are difficult to describe or even comprehend. They penetrate to our deepest levels of consciousness without being attenuated by the filter of language; they retain their specificity, their emotional sharp edges. They can make us laugh, cry, rage and weep without quite knowing why.
Narrative like this serves to affirm that a section of this country and the media fell in love with the thought of an African American Ruler/King. Obama wasn't particularly a doer of the great things he promised his constituency. They just fell in love with the idea of their guy and his family being in that house.
The guy moving into the White House next week is a doer. Yes, he has made big promises, but has more of a track record of building things, employing people, etc. His style of presidency will be more blunt and crass and assuredly will not be painted as picturesque and full of flowery narrative, but I suspect that we will look back in 4 or 8 years and realize that the new guy accomplished a hell of a lot more and that most of what was accomplished was good for American and reaffirmed our standing in this world by making America his top priority.

You know what else can leave an image that never fades?
That's right, an atomic bomb.
That's right, an atomic bomb.

Man, how many wars did he start in office? I mean, have we ever not had war underneath him?

By cutting into the coffers of 10-100's of millions by a large amount. Not good when many of the millions didn't want health insurance in the first place, but it's OK because at least the health insurance companies profit.

-record setting job growth
Yet, somehow, people are still upset about unemployment. I really wonder why, because if this is true, then Trump probably would not have been elected.
I will also mention that somehow, Congress is not responsible for any of this. I will also mention that somehow Obama is not responsible for any of the bad things that happened during his terms, which; of course, includes the escalating race relations.
He might be OK, but you are painting him entirely too lightly.

I agree. I'll never get the image out of my mind of a President of the United States posing in front of a large mural of Che...or belittling the history of the United States to foreign audiences...or calling the Constitution just a piece of "parchment"...or telling Christians to not get on their "high horse" when condemning muslim butchery.
What a man....good times...good times.
