She forgot to mention 'classy' MO's 'pride' in her country.

Hold on to one image from President Obama's farewell address: The president using his handkerchief to wipe a tear from his eye as he thanked Michelle Obama for her grace and forbearance.
I'm so misty eyed. Touching, truly.

We've seen it all before -- except that we've never seen an African-American family in these roles. Images of the Obamas performing the duties of the first family are indelible, and I believe they will be one of the administration's most important and lasting legacies.
They are black and that is an important and lasting contribution. Are you fricking kidding me? Do black folks not absolutely hate this kind of patronizing from soft-hearted liberals?

Seriously, the biggest legacy is that Obama is proof positive that the US is not a racist country and that we as a people are open to voting in the best person.
Obama is also proof that Americans don't always elect good presidents, but that's not what Obama will be remembered for. He'll be remembered for all time as the first black president, and I'm fine with that.
What I'm not fine with is what he was able to do to mess things up, and how the media gave him a free pass.

The Obamas were hyper partisan. It is stunning how the media are now portraying them to be "when they go low, we go high, Ward and June Cleaver couple that loved everyone, now.
Yes, they sacrificed their personal space but suck it up it comes with the power and job.

I'm actually surprised.
I can understand that mindset better given this information.

Trump is going to wipe out his legacy by the end of the month.

That will never fade... like that's a good thing? Frankly I've been trying to forget the past 8 years since Nov. 8th. If his legacy sticks around, it will be like the pee stain in the carpet from the dog that you just can't get out.

They truly upheld the dignity of the American Presidency. Exactly what we needed after the humiliation of the Bush years. Hopefully someone can restore the dignity of the office again in 2020.

I don't hear many people say that Obama was the GOAT. There are many more presidents that I would consider substantially better than Obama.
The ones that say Obama is the GOAT are no better than the ones who say Obama is the WOAT. He is somewhere in between, a serviceable president that has a good approval rating leaving office.

I'm going to miss the Obama's. It's gonna be really awkward when you see the don choose the thanksgiving turkey by himself because his wife and young child wants nothing to do with him being president.

How long before his image replaces George on the 1...?

Thats the way the majority of Americans will remember Obama. That memory will only get fonder once America tires (petals are already falling off the rose) of the carnival barker.

What I find the saddest about the Obama presidency is that so many of the black community said that his election finally gave them hope or that he inspired them. I have seen black women in their 30s and 40s say that Michelle Obama inspired them.
It is sad to me because it is an indictment of black mother and fathers, in general, for failing to do what parents are supposed to do. Throughout my life, when I asked who inspired me, who were my heroes, etc. the answer was always my parents. I was taught at the earliest of ages that I could be anything or do anything I wanted if I worked hard enough.
I loved and respected my parents so much that when I was about to do something that I thought may be wrong, I would ask myself if it would embarrass my parents if they knew that I did it. If so, I chose to do the right thing. This is missing in the black community.
The way the black community as a whole reacts to the Obamas should be a wake up call to black mother and fathers that they need to change so that their children don't have to wait for the next black President to feel inspired. However, I don't think many heard the wake up call because they were too busy listening to that same President tell them that it is OK to continue to feel like a victim of society.
