I did the same thing with the EBRSO about 6/7 years ago. Black guy with warrants out of Nola steals my computer, my wallet and my cell phone.
I call the cell phone. His GF answers. I say this is "Tom from Boh Brothers" and the owner of the phone left the phone in my office during an interview and I want to hire him. She gives me his name with not a second of hesitation.
I take that name, and head over to Jack in The Box where he ate (Gardere) breakfast on my stolen card. The manager and I look at the tape. Now we have his name, and him eating on my card ON TAPE.
Then we get the license plate of his "loaner" (explained to me as use of a car for drugs) which just happens to be parked a few blocks away at the GF's.
So we have his name. We know he's staying with a gf around the block. We have the car used in the crime parked outside. We have him using my card. On tape.
From all that sleuthing....nothing. Nada. Zip.
Cops didn't want anything to do with it.I think they were pissed I was able to gift wrap it to them so quickly. I was out $1500. I brought it to the OT and it was a whole-day thread of similar stories...

Similar incident happened to a friend of mine at the Manship YMCA. Truck was broken into and valuables taken. YMCA security cameras captured the crime, recorded the perpetrator's license plate number and even showed where the thief walked over and held a brief conversation with an YMCA employee before leaving.
I used to work there and even back then, we had issues with car breakins. I think the SO patrols there IIRC.

All of you in EBR make sure you've gotten your Property Tax Bill.
Our bill usually comes in November.
I just got in on Friday. And that was after an e-mail and several phone calls.
Tried to access the bill online, and couldn't even open the link.
Finally able to open the link, and couldn't access it because there were no instructions on how to exactly enter your information.
Merry Christmas

My friend says following the break in there was increased police car sightings in the Y parking lot for several weeks. Suggest whoever is in charge of patrols may be doing their job. Investigations, not so much.

How dare those police officers shoot that man. He was just shooting at them because he was scared. What time does the riot start?

I use to workout at the manship Y and they always had at least one cop car in the parking lot.
Its laughable that anyone would suggest that EBRSO should take over the entire city. They are as bad as BRPD if not worse. We shouldn't forget on top of not doing their job with investigations they shite all over the constitution with their gay park stings. That is a huge waste of tax payer money and they were able to come out of that without a black eye

The Fabulously Gorgeous Broken Window Theory of Policing is proven science. If you allow anonymous male sex in BREC parks at midnight, pretty soon the terrorists will have won. And then we will all be awash in Show Tunes and Streisand Tributes.

That whole thing was a giant what the frick from EBRSO but the BR media let them completely off the hook. So many stories should have been done about how much they wasted in tax payer money on that, crimes that went unsolved because they put resources into that. The Br media not being worth two shits allows both BRPD and EBRSO to virtually run wild without being called out.

Why are you so defensive over what I said about BR?
Enjoy your time commuting.

Let's not forget this gem:

"Wal Mart is hiring...but he won't be working in the electronics dept."
I would like one of BR's finest who post on TD to enlighten us what's next for cops who get fired from the PD. Is there ever another lower-tier law enforcement post for them to fall back on. The Wire's Lester Freamon got Pawn Shop Duty.

And for the record, BRPD is without a doubt the worst in the state.
Think about all of the occupations these guys cannot have. Being a cop and having authority made sense.

As I said before I don't commute, I work at home except for maybe 1 or 2 days a month. Last month I drove a total of 122 miles for work. That works out be be about 6 miles per business day.

As long as they terminate the bad cops, what is there to complain about? Bad employees show up in just about every field. Just have to keep weeding them out.

It all comes down to the application pool. If we're offering a $500,000k desk job in the finance world, the applicants are going to be stronger candidates and you can pick from the most qualified. These morons are being selected out of a group that wants to make $35,000 a year and be shot at. Nobody with stronger qualifications will do that, so they're forced to choose from dregs with nothing better to apply for.

You can easily go to a lot of safer cities and make more than that. You would think that BRPD and NOPD would pay more. A lot of cities in Ms and La pay more than both.

I can't tell you have many times I have hired an excellent candidate named William and his evil twin brother Bill actually shows up to work. It is extremely difficult to always hire the "correct" candidate. Sometimes you just have to weed them out over time.
