Reagan was a puppet of capitalists. Reagan was an actor who acted the part. He never had an original thought in his life. He should have gotten an academy award for playing the president.

What made him truly evil was his policies which have led to the deaths of millions of people in this country and others like Guatemala and El Salvador.

But in regards to the US, he ushered in a policy of especially cruel capitalism. I give him credit for a paradigm change. He was able to convince people to vote for politicians and policies against their interest in the name of patriotism or American values.

He was truly evil in what he did to America.

bullshite. The Dem mantra was 'The Soviet Union isn't going anywhere. We need to learn to coexist'.

Says the poster who had Lenin as his avatar for years. You can be disregarded because your economic philosophy is a laughable black spot in the history of Earth that is only fondly regarded by fools who've never matured out of adolescent rebellion.

You are going to have to back those statements up with something factual.

It wasn't just his levels of spending, but what they were spending it on. The book I linked is a great read by someone who worked in his administration and involved in the initial budget meetings.

Reagan's greatest accomplishment on the economy was being President when Volcker changed the way the Fed operated.

What I get from every president thread is no president is responsible for anything and every president is responsible for everything.

It's kind of mind numbing.

No.
Prime promise was ending the Soviet Union.
He did that.

Reaganomic accomplishments?

yes

No.
Prime economic promise was tax restructuring.
He did that.

I knew it was David Stockman before I even clicked on the link.

He chickened out and couldn't take the heat when Reagan was carrying out the promises he made.

It's not as if Stockman was blindsided.

He has no credibility. None.

Umm, no. No bullshite, Mises and Hayek predicted it in their take down of Socialism in the Economic Calculation Problem throughout the 20s.

Ronnie the a-hole should've actually listened to what Hayek had to say.

Socialism ended the Soviet Union, not some a-hole US politician.

With a paper-tiger military
there used to be this book the gov't published every year, like a trade paperback, on Soviet military capabilities.

I got one that was annotated, showing how bogus most of it was. We built the soviets up to be much stronger than they were, so we could build a mighty military to counter them.
