This is why those people saying that making a big deal about Confederate monuments is just baseless hysteria are simply burying their heads in the sand.
These progressive make every cause a moral argument. Right now, taking down Confederate statues is a moral imperative. If you resist or question it, you're a nazi. The same will happen with a whole host of other figures or ideas. We will all be morally obligated to blindly follow them or else.

Is there anything normal that these people are in support of that doesn't involve violence, destruction and disruption? That's all I'm seeing from this "resistance".
the cops let it escalate because a mayor or governor finds the mob useful...so what's going to happen is either someone sick of that or someone feeling empowered by that...is going to show up and start shooting people when things escalate

Yeah, unfortunately one side is allowed to operate with impunity, it'll cause a predictable violent backlash, then the left will have the justification it needs to implement everything on it's socialistic wishlist. This is what happens when we decide to selectively enforce laws. The whole idea of a civilized democracy breaks down.

It isn't stopping you from using the slippery slope fallacy stemming from these 200 people now is it?
By your logic, why shouldn't I expect the allowance of nazis without substantial push back in Charlotesville, as you infer needs to happen with leftists and monuments, won't stop until all of the right has successfully ethnic cleansed this country?
