Well if you feel your cause is worth people dying over, private property is hardly significant. But that's a question for the rioters to answer.
Most Westerners feel like private property is one of the pillars of society. Destroying it goes against that. These militant leftists don't believe in private property.

It would be more accurate to attribute it to the Boston Massacre. Literally, a mob of people antagonizing the police looking to incite violence to propagandize their cause and the evil gov't.
