This ad campaign actually dates from WWII. As Iunderstand, the posters were never used.
What Churchill said in 1940 is not much different from what the Independent suggested. What effective resistance the Brit government makes now is a different issue.

yea, at least in WW2 GB actually fought back. The citizens were told to "carry on".
