The idea that benefits are 'free' in society

Is there a more glaring example of the economic stupidity of most Americans than the concept of 'free' goods, services, and benefits?
Moreover, is this no doubt the culmination of efforts of the ruling class to ensure entrenched voting blocks?
Take your pick of anything that is 'free' and it is easy to show how there is a cost.

If you're doing it with money given to you from someone else for not doing shite except existing, then no you are not. They are paying them.

No sales tax on food products if it's bought with the e"b"t, but they do get to pay taxes on the liquor and cigarettes, so maybe that's fair.
