No question when India, Russia, China and the rest of the world is breathing down your neck, you decide to reduce your technology output? This is a reminder that the most successful companies that this nation rests their back on cake through this (Google, Amazon, Apple) you name it in technology, but guess it’s great to even restrict those.

Dumb part is the H1-B affects the technology position the most where there is a current huge shortage in workers.

Immigrant founders founded 44 out of the 100 fortune 100 companies.
quote:

First- or second-generation immigrants played a founding role in 44 of 2018’s top 100 Fortune 500 companies, including Apple, AT&T, and Ford, according to data analysis published in the February 2019 issue of National Geographic. Other domestic blue chip firms founded by immigrants or their children? Alphabet. Amazon. Costco. And that barely scratches the surface. If the list starts to seem like an inventory of most of the nation’s most successful companies, well, maybe that’s because it is.

Dumbass those Americans aren’t competing with people that get H!-B visas, do you realize how competitive it is to get one? There’s only 200k given out each year and tech gets majority of them

Why can’t Americans being the ones producing the tech instead of immigrants?

Why do you think it is appropriate to have foreigners taking jobs when tens of millions of Americans are out of work?

Dumbass 200k are given out each year, what’s that going to do for 26 million unemployed. Are you too stupid to understand that this doesn’t do anything?

I refuse to believe blue collar young people from the Midwest and New England can’t learn tech skills and fill these jobs

Is ghanesh from India genetically smarter and more techy than John from Saginaw?

How many were founded within the last 50 years and how many outside of the tech industry? And how many came from middle class or lower backgrounds?

We would find a way to fill those jobs. In the end it’s just negative wage competition.

Bull fricking shite.

All internal and external market analysis shows that the "tech sector" is microcosmically smaller than the world believes. There simply aren't that many jobs in software.

Here's a quote from Peter Thiel
quote:

“How big is the tech industry? Is it enough to save all Western Civilization? Enough to save the United States? Enough to save the state of California? I think that it’s large enough to bail out the government workers’ unions in the city of San Francisco.”

How many devs and coders do you think Silicon Valley actually needs, especially considering how much better the top 1% of the profession are than the top 10% who are themselves considerably better than the top 50% who are infinitely more valuable than the bottom 50%?

The same couple thousand people do the vast majority of creation in the tech sector and then farms out routine maintenance to H1Bs.

First- or second-generation immigrants...

I would say there is no such thing as a second-generation immigrant. There are immigrants and second generation Americans.

My mother was an immigrant, so I am second-generation on my maternal side. I am not an immigrant but I will gladly accept your cash, checks or other renumerations.
