To Rastafari, Selassie is their messiah. Lots of reggae references this belief. When he visited Kingston in the 60's, he was greeted by thousands of "worshippers" with some claiming they saw stigmata on his hands. Bob Marley song "Iron Lion Zion" is named as such because of the Ethiopian Lion of Judah and Ethiopia was their Zion. Selassie was emperor of Ethiopia.
