Hillary only won the popular vote because of what 10 counties in 2 states? Which proves the brilliance of the electoral college, surely you don't want 10 counties in 2 states deciding who is President of the entire country

Where did those votes come from?

True but to say the Democratic party is on life support is asinine considering a majority of the voting population voted for Hillary

I never said that. I'm just arguing that the Democratic party isn't on life support considering a majority of the voting population voted for Hillary.

Dude....it is the weakest it has been since the 1920s

It’s state level power is an ash heap right now. Republicans control large majority of
Governor houses and state houses

This is due to the large migration of people to bigger cities. That leaves less people in rural areas. The one's who stick around tend to vote Republican.

Republican's control more area but not more people.

Why did so many people vote for Hillary? Was it because they really believed she would make a good president? You know the real answer. Stop kidding yourself.

I would argue that only having real relevance in 10 counties in 2 states nationwide is being on life support, regardless of how many people live in those 10 counties.

It's possible to lead the nation in scoring, yet still have a losing record.

The popular vote is an irrelevant metric.

Because she had a D beside her name. Which is my point. How can the Democratic party be on life support when so many people voted for Hillary just because of the D?

The same reason Trump got a majority of his votes. He had lots of opposition in the beginning and many Republicans vowed to not vote for him no matter what. When it came down to it they voted R.

And that's the beauty of the electoral college. The old white men who made up our constitution had the foresight to understand that a majority of the people living in the east at that time had no right to dictate how the other people in the country wanted to live their lives.

It still holds true today.

Wrong. The majority of the voting population didn’t vote for her.

You.... uh.... do realize... uh... that Hillary only won 48% of the popular vote... right?

Sure. She beat trump who had 46%, but... uh... I mean. Idk. But 48% is not over 50% which is what you claimed.

Also, you are forgetting that 40% of the voting population DIDNT EVEN VOTE.

So... yeah.....

It’s like you completely forgot about write ins and 3rd party voters...

And then of course you forgot about the 40% who didn’t vote for anyone. So she missed 40% of the population in one fell swoop.
