The Charges Should Be Dismissed

The people saying that Fani Willis having an affair with Wade does not mean Trump can’t get a fair trial are missing the forest for the trees. In a vacuum, it is meaningless. Maybe it’s an issue for an ethics panel, but I don’t believe you scuttle the trial for that.

The real issue is she and Wade have by all appearances lied to the court. Wade has definitely lied when he said in divorce proceedings he had no relationships outside his wife as of a date that was after when they have now admitted this relationship started. He then double downed on that with a filing to this judge misstating when the relationship started. Willis filed that which means she is agreeing with it.

I have been upfront I am no Donald Trump fan. I think what he did in trying to overturn the election is reprehensible. Still, prosecutors must be held to the highest standard. If they are willing to blatantly lie to the court on this, then what else will they lie about? All charges should be dismissed as I don’t know how you tell truth from lie from her or her office at this standpoint. Is this justice in this case? It’s not just that these defendants do not have to face a jury, but that is about micro level justice. Dismissing the charges is about macro level justice and doing the right thing for the criminal justice system.
