What is wrong with the old one? Is this the norm re other States? Are there key issues at stake? Guess I’m out of the loop.

The old one is about 50 years old and one of the largest state constitutions in the country. There’s very specific language about where budget cuts can come from and what’s protected. It’s been argued we desperately need this but it’s hard to trust these folks with getting it right for the sake of the future of this state.

So the lobbyists are going to write our new constitution.

What do we need money and services and facilities for? Do we not have government buildings, college buildings, etc we can use? What do we need to pay for? No one should get paid for this.

Congratulations Exxon Mobile and DOW on their new fiefdom. The state’s population is declining because no one wants to work the POS backbreaking jobs that the major plants have. Only Louisiana could piss away the natural resources we’ve got

This needs to be a sticky. I would love to see a total constitutional rewrite happen in real time. Pretty sure I was born the year the last state adopted a constitution, give or take a year.

You probably want weekly BLM riots and protection for participants codified.

The delegates will get the same per diem that legislators get.

The are required to convene in the House or Senate unless in session- which if this starts on 5/20, they’ll still be in session. But it does say they have to stay in BR and have access to any other agency, board or commission space. But also they can use private space offered to them lol
