Would this have gone down in Birmingham?
It would be interesting to say the least. We have a black mayor, a black city council, and a black police chief. Hard to cry racism given those facts, but......

I've enjoyed the "Hurricane Reporting" style of these people.
Cut to a dude in the 'marching stream' as he tries to keep moving with the crowd, looking back at the cameraman trying to keep up:
"We are still walking..it's built up to about 500 now...check back, we expect strengthening later..."
silliness
I've noticed this. I secretly pray that the entire march suddenly stops and he falls all over himself.

Yeah, dammit. Where's Bull Connor when you need him?
It has nothing to do with a racist attitude like Bull Conner had.
It has to do with people who take advantage of the situation and loot (both Blacks and Whites) because we no longer warn them that "ALL LOOTERS WILL BE SHOT!" and then follow up on the warning.
Where's your concern for the store owners in Ferguson who had their lives ruined as a result of those looters?

Which of the above are Democrats?
And this is relevant because . . . ? That was the Dixiecrats heyday.

I feel very badly for them, and I wonder why the authorities weren't better prepared with sufficient National Guard troops. What's your point?

The tried and true narrative.
They weren't "true" Democrats. They were (in fact), Republicans!

My point is that party labels are irrelevant when it comes to those assholes. Do you really think it matters? If so, how?

It matters because this is a deliberate attempt to re-write history. I would respect a Democrat much more if they would simply admit this dark part of their past. But instead, it is always an attempt to marginalize and/or deflect. It is dishonest (at best).

Black on black crime has to stop. The violent statistics and broken family statistics are astounding.

You're referencing certain Democrats in the South. Do you think the majority of Democrats in the Northeast, Midwest or West shared these racial views?

Senator Byrd of West Virginia shared it at some time in his life being in the KKK and all.
