I like how you keep crawfishing to try to confuse people that only have a casual understanding of the issue

Oh and Northern Ireland > Southern Ireland. I guess the reason Southern Ireland didn't leave the EU is because they know the EU always bails out third world countries!

You're aware that Hollande calls her 'a leaflet out of the Communist Party', right? She's called for an end to nuclear power. She clarified the 're-arm' comment to mean a 'spiritual' rearmament. She's called for a nationalisation of the banks. She's backed the Havana Charter. She's backed SYRIZA. I can go on.

What's the argument for France in 2017 rending their garments over this stuff from the 1940s?
Seems like more purposeful manufacturing of the guilt sentiment that has led to the current demographic situation in Europe.

Her father being a Vichy apologist and her making a big show of breaking with him a few years ago. This shows that that was all a sham.

They're the anti-austerity party. That's why she backed them.

That's not a "Communist" thing to do, and it was in response to a fatal accident. Sounds more like political wave-riding.

My point is, she's not nearly as "Left" as Bernie, and you didn't really address the fact that the first points you made were directly refuted.

No (probably back to the US in the summer), but I have relatives around Biarritz-Bayonne and Lyon.

You want Frexit?

1. Nationalisation of banks, higher taxes on corporations, and protectionism is left as left can be on economics

2. I directly addressed the gun thing (she 'clarified' her comments)

3. On the military, she's anti-NATO, anti-service, anti-France having a role in the Maghreb, and for being a puppet of Putin, including recognising the invasion of Ukraine. A bump in spending about equal with her main rivals (even Melenchon, IIRC) isn't anything much to argue with.

I find it a problem that people like you are throwing away your principles because the media is telling you that someone is to the right.

So, you think France, Germany and several other European countries are currently headed in the right direction? I guess they are, if your endgame for Europe is a march towards chaos and failiure.

Eurocat and I had an exchange yesterday about some of the "low-profile" Eastern European countries, and how they were both staunchly pro-American & anti-Islam. You know what's really pathetic, tnbhoy? The fact that we are living in a time where the script has been flipped, and Western Europe is the one that should be taking their que from Eastern Europe.

Oh, how the once mighty ARE falling. Give me LePen for France. She'll stop the flow of Muslim immigrants into France, and she will (hopefully) engineer a successful French departure from the EUROPEAN. Her opponent will do neither of these things.

PS - I'm a conservative, and I don't recall ever agreeing with you on anything. Call yourself what you will, but you sure as hell aren't a conservative.

NAFTA passed despite Democratic opposition. When Obama tried to sell the TPP, most of the opposition came from his own party. The attribution of protectionism to the right is a recent phenomenon.

Say Hillary is an evil count 10 times and you may convince a few but you have to really say it with conviction.

I find it funny that people that consider themselves on the American political right only care about French politics when it reinforces their own ideology. As if they're constantly having to look for rationalizations for believing what they do.
