What’s that Dostoyevsky line: Happy families are all the same, but unhappy families are unhappy in their own unique ways?” (He meant Tolstoy.) “I think the Democrats are fundamentally afflicted with the inability to discuss and have an adult conversation about economics and jobs, because they’re too consumed by identity politics. And then the Republicans, it’s all this theoretical Cato Institute, Austrian economics, limited government — which just doesn’t have any depth to it. They’re not living in the real world.

Yet "conservatives" wonder why alot of Libertarians didn't support Trump

With all due respect, romney ran a libertarian campaign and lost. Trump ran a economic interventionist campaign and won.

Libertarian simply cannot win at the booth. it can't.

But ex-libertarians turned big government advocates should be given extra credence. Right?

Well I wouldn't call Romney's campaign libertarian.

Regardless, I can't help but wonder if there was an important difference in 2012 vs. 2016?

Maybe Obama vs. Hillary????

Libertarians pretty much earn the degree to which they aren't taken seriously. It's a good discussion for eggheads sitting around a bowl in college, but I have a hard time believing it's just a coincidence that it attracts so many flakes and strange ducks.

'Member that convention? 'Member Gary Johnson?

I 'member.

Sorry Iosh. You know I consider you one of the good ones.

Trump won an election that had less voters than the last election. More eligible voters stayed at home than voted for either option.

Romney didn't run on a libertarian campaign. He ran the same campaign that Hillary ran four years later (confronting Russia, immigrant-friendly). Nowhere did he mention drug legalization, cutting military spending, or the like.

She's an ugly partisan witch. She would sell her genitals out to the highest Republican bidder.

The "functioning brain" part disqualifies him.
