and you are still trolling in peoples frustrations and disgust watching a cultural war. If you post a few emoticons you will be just like azzurobbie soon enough.

yep a bunch of conservatives melting over a first amendment right.

Conservatives actually love this. Just got President Trump re-elected in 2020.

Please continue to express your first amendment rights.

Thanks.

Yeah, no rational human being would interpret the entire fricking team not taking the field as "not a protest."

Saying this about the first amendment is utter stupidity

I don't even have to do that. Y'all do it to yourselves.

Frustrations and disgust. At kneeling.

And pressuring the one guy who stood with hand over heart into an apology as if he wronged his teammates shows what the intentions were

Steelers still feeling the pain

Steelers "still hearing the whine". Rooney still has his share of the $14 billion dollars earned by the NFL last season , over 100,000 on a waiting list for season tickets.

We will see what happens next Sunday to see where they really stand, or kneel

Sorry Mr. Rooney but not taking the field during the national anthem was exactly what you said it wasn't - a political statement. I'm amazed you can't fathom that thought.

Anything can be interpreted as a political statement, especially actions concerning the flag/anthem/military.

Trump forced the widespread politicizing of football. He had no business telling people how to act, and no business telling private companies how to handle their employees. If someone, anyone, tries to tell my friend, coworker, or employee to stop doing something that is well within his rights and the law, I'm going to support him (even if I don't agree with his reason) because this is America.

Each individual Steelers player had to make a decision, then, thanks to Trump. Should he show support for his friends and coworkers (the people who respect him and those he respects) and the fricking Constitution, or should he show support for a president who has no respect for anyone or anything? Because simply standing for the anthem as usual was no longer an option. Trump made that action all about himself, as narcissists do.

Being on the field at all would be interpreted as a political statement regardless of what they did. Now you're saying not taking the field was political, too. The only way they could "win" in your mind would be to metaphorically "bow down" to Trump by standing for the anthem like he demanded. That is the thought process of a people under the control of a dictator.

It's a lie. Villanueva was basically threatened and made to apologise for going out for the anthem. No respect for the Steelers, Tomlin and I am ashamed of Villanueva for being a pussy and buckling under to these people.
