It seems like someone suggested in one of these threads that they may be delaying the incorporation vote so they can use the threat of it as leverage to get the bill to fund the Southeast BR school district pushed through the legislature. It was their original goal, so maybe they think legislators will be swayed if it meant keeping the BR city-parish structure in tact. I can't remember who alluded to that or what thread it was in.

So many other issues have been brought up since the incorporation effort started, though, so it seems weird to abandon them.

Where's your poll?

And they haven't collected $100k. Nowhere near it. LR is not one of the 3 agents/chairpersons on the petition, so financials do not involve him in any way. He is merely a volunteer spokesperson, as has been pointed out to you numerous times.

Possibly but does the legislature meet again before the hypothetical spring vote on the incorporation?

According the La. legislative website the next legislative session is scheduled to begin April 13, 2015 and must adjourn by June 11, 2015.

It's not my poll. I made that clear in my earlier post. If the people who commissioned the poll want to disclose their efforts, that's up to them, not me.

We've covered this before.

Rainey, who says he is working for free, estimated that as much as a $100,000 has already been spent out of the pockets of St. George supporters in the past two years for legal fees, lobbyists, signs and other services.....
I'm sure you'll try to spin it that the $100,000 was not "collected" but the fact is LR, the Third estimated last January that $100,000 had been spent by SG supporters and no financial disclosure was required. Disclosure will be required once the petition is certified.

(Notice the word "lobbyists" in the sentence as the recipients of some the money....along with 'other services.')

Obviously out of pocket expenses aren't collected but go ahead and insinuate that SG directors are abusing their public trust when the evidence you provide doesn't prove anything of the sort.

It's getting old.
You don't live in the proposed area so bottom line you don't have a say.
You can cry, stomp your feet, pout, and complain it's means nothing.
Maybe your wife can give you your baby bottle and change your diaper due to its full of something.
Guess what unless you put on your big boy pants and move in the area then you don't have a say.

The City of Baton Rouge and East Baton Rouge Parish need to have separate governments. Then we will see how fast Baton Rouge has to cut services or raise taxes versus the unincorporated areas.

By the way if your city gives the officer that was fired a retirement when he reaches a certain age how long do you think BR can survive without leaching from unincorporated areas tax base?

I also see businesses that were in Baton Rouge moving outside the city?

And the "2 years" would pre-date the St.George efforts, and go back to the SEBR school district efforts. Russian can't even get his half-truths right, and now he is quoting some top secret poll. "Link"?

Why don't you tell us again about us voting at the 'poles'?

That's the plan....sort of. If my vote might make a difference.

What is the half truth, Lionel? I quoted yo.....er, Lionel Rainey, the Third, and provided the link. Did that confuse you?

It's not 'top secret,' Lionel.

It's just a private poll commissioned by a non-profit group. I'm sure I'm not the only member who has seen it. But I was asked not to attribute the poll to them until they are ready to release it. Unlike you, I keep my word.

Have you not wondered why Mary Olive Pierson, Delgado, Kip, et al, have gone silent? And why no additional property owners have petitioned the CP council for annexation?

Just a coincidence???

Think, Lionel.....THINK!

I know exactly why M.O.P and Delgado were gagged. Nothing to do with a poll.

2 years predates SG. Think about what you are saying. And as I posted to you AGAIN, LR3 has nothing to do with financials. He's a volunteer spokesperson.
