Amazing how many country club republicans are moving money to oppose this.

Lipsey and a number of other assholes like Engquist are doing this because they make too much off the city of BR through connections.

If the city parish weakens, they don’t make as much off contracts.

Makes sense, as more people leave they buy up the property and develop it.

Applicants are out of the blocks with a weak standing argument.

That was a pretty lackluster standing argument. I'd have swung with a more engaging attorney.

Looks like Crain is dialed in.

This argument is good/effective.

You know Griffin will be a no (because that shrill bitch MOP will almost certainly bring up the "racial" nature of St.G.).

Broome was tossed out of the case, I think MOP went with her but I could be wrong.

There are tons of precedent in Louisiana where municipalities have voted to incorporate. What makes St George any different from those others aside from it being the cash cow tax base of EBR?

The legislature also changed the rules. St. George would already be a new municipality under the old rules.

I still think the powers that be would have blocked it every way they could. But that’s me.

Honorable Crain thinks that the petition stated enough details for a public vote to have happened.

I think the appeal from Ist circuit of Appeal will be reversed if other Judges think like Judge Crain.

Just tuned in... BRs argument if St George pulls out, BR cant afford itself because STG is paying more than it receives?

That has effectively been their argument for a while now… St George incorporating has a “disparate effect” on BR.

Problem is that BR and EBR are merged and BR is stealing most of the parish kitty to pay their own bills. But they won’t straight out admit it.
