Talked to one of BR's lawyers and he expects the Supreme Court to rule in St. George's favor. Also said BR is tired of the police union and might be pushing for a metropolitan police dept.
This rumor seems to go around BR every 20 years or so.

Our Sheriff was just reflected, but things are sliding in his areas of patrol.
EBR wastes too much money with two large police departments. I think we’d be better served with one.
Sid needs to tighten things up.

The problem with BRPD is NOT the union… it is the shithead officers who have been put in power by SWB and MP.
New chief is in but he can’t necessarily turf all these idiots if they don’t have bodies to replace them thanks to how fricked the department is.

bullshite. Not defending SWB or MP, but BRPD Police Union AND Baton Rouge Fire Dept Union are garbage.

Those assholes went door to door in the proposed SG area to BRPD and BRFD retirees and told them if SG becomes incorporated that they would lose their pensions. BRFD Union leadership in particular are nothing more than thugs
