Members of special counsel Robert Mueller's team are looking at President Trump's oldest son, Donald Trump Jr., to determine the intent behind his attendance at a June 2016 meeting at Trump Tower with a Russian lawyer, according to a report.
A source familiar with the investigation into potential ties between Trump campaign officials and Russians told BuzzFeed that federal prosecutors are working to figure out what information Trump Jr. was provided during the meeting. Federal prosecutors are also examining Trump Jr.'s own comments about the June 2016 gathering.
Trump Jr. attended the meeting, along with the president's son-in-law Jared Kushner and then-Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, with Natalia Veselnitskaya, the Russian lawyer, after he was promised damaging information on Hillary Clinton.
Trump Jr. has said he didn't receive any useful information on Clinton and said the meeting lasted only for a short time. Instead, the conversation shifted to the Magnitsky Act, a 2012 law that punished Russian human rights abusers, and the issue of American adoptions of Russian children.
It is a violation of federal election law for a presidential campaign to request or accept anything of value from a foreign national. Democrats have insisted that campaign dirt on Clinton would qualify as something of value, but others disagree, and it could be a question that has to be tested in court.

Like the opposition research the Ukrainian government did on Trump for the DNC and HRC?

Well, that should be a short investigation given the fact that Jr. took the meeting and brought the crew based explicitly on the premise that information would be transferred from the Russian government via an intermediary in order to help his father with the presidency.

LOL I'm so glad I made the decision to distance myself from that shite show.
I guarantee had I been the Special Counsel you would have only seen one leak, and then that person would be in jail and there would be no more leaks.

But they didn't receive anything!
The meeting was a nothing burger and Kushner has text messages telling his aide to get him TFO!

According to the same people that lied about the meeting in the first place. Repeatedly.

That law is in reference to campaign contributions. Unless we live in a censored society information is free. It is my believe that we do live in a censored society, but the left would have to admit (thus in crimping themselves) to try and make this stick. More "ifs" in this deal than a 6-6 football team "should've made it to the National Championship if"!

There are no thought crimes.
Attempted meeting with a Russian agent who was not really a Russian agent but a fake

If they are, this is good news. It proves they gt nothing. At worst there would be a potential FEC fine....and not a large one at that because you would have to place a price on the information that was not given and not disclosed.
It's a LOSSSSSSSSSSSER!!!!!!! and if true, Mueller has to know this

Jared was there and left early but I believe unless there were documents or something physical left behind then every campaign in the history of US would be guilty of meeting and gaining information on opponent.

Also, the emails alone are not enough to show intent.

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump
Most politicians would have gone to a meeting like the one Don jr attended in order to get info on an opponent. That's politics!
