They're probably hard pressed to find a lot of good he's done there. He had a big hand in the expedited takeover of Black River Healthcare in that area though. Which was good for them, but it caused quite a lot of problems for the center that took them on (I started at the center that took them on a month after it became final, because of the merger). They forced their hand to expedite the takeover and then shite the bed with helping expidite Medicaid and Medicare credentialling. This created a tremendous cash crunch. Lucky they made it and are now currently upgrading the two locations in Manning which were actually quite appalling.

Glad the facilities are getting upgraded. My family is from Turbeville and farmed tobacco and cotton. They were opposed to Clyburn's hard support for the tobacco buyout and ending the tobacco quota system. Because of the screwed up district lines, the bulk of Clyburn's political base were blacks in Orangeburg and Columbia, areas with almost zero history of farming tobacco.

My family is from Florence and Hartsville. My moms side worked in the textile mill in Hartsville and at Sunoco. My dads side has the trades (preacher, lawyer, auctioneer, and my dad has worked in several labor intensive fields). As you can imagine, they have diverse personalities that make for quite the entertainment. Lol.

Yes he does love Orangeburg. If I'm not mistaken he was very instrumental in saving SC State which should have failed.

My girlfriend went to Coker. We were at a wedding in Columbia a couple weeks ago and drove the back way through Bishopville to walk around Coker's campus. We went to Kalmia Gardens and Yogi Bear's fried chicken after that. Hartsville is a pretty town.

Oh man, Yogi Bear on Sundays after church at Grandmas.

Hartsville is a nice little town. Their downtown scene is surpringly good for a town of their size. Next time you're that way check out Bizzles downtown for some good southern cooking. They're a recent discovery of mine. I don't get over that way enough since my Grandmother passed a few years ago, but I am partial to Hartsville. I'm only about 25 minutes away in Florence.

Tough night for Dems.

Predictable MSM line --- This (SC-5, GA-6 GOP victories) demonstrates GOP vulnerability in 2018.

I had Bakari's dad as a professor at USC and thought the world of him. He was a survivor of the Orangeburg Massacre and went to jail for his involvement in the protest.

At the state level, Bakari is great because he is a lawyer and a strong voice for our profession. And while I know he'd be better than Clyburn at the congressional level, and while I know he is a very intelligent guy, I don't see him being more than a CBC stooge if he goes to D.C.

I really don't understand how the Dems walk around in public without hiding their faces.

First their blue wall was broken Bigly and they lost a tremnously expensive national campaign. Then they couldn't beat a guy who assaulted a reporter in Montana. Now they just lost the most expensive congressional race on record where they flooded a Georgian district with big money from NY and CA. Classic.
