For it to be systemic, it has to be ingrained in law. It can't just be that someone is a racist, or some company is racist. It has to be a law or a public policy that discriminates against a race.

The only such laws and policies I am aware of are Affirmative Action and minority set-aside programs, including in the public bidding process and university admissions.

Maybe I'm wrong on this. Somebody learn me something.

Not necessarily. If it can be proven that certain groups get more favorable sentences from the court system that would be an example of systemic racism that is subjective in nature but still has real life consequences. I don't know if that has been proven however.

That’s why slavery, Jim Crow, Apartheid and what the Nazis did we’re all good examples of systemic racism.

Thankfully we no longer have such laws and as you pointed out, we have made laws to help minorities at the expense of the majority to “even things up”.

The only one I’m aware of, or was at least aware of a long time ago and may have been since abolished, is discrepancies between crack and cocaine drug charges.

Can't upvote this enough.

It's is the most crystal clear example that exists.

If that's the case, then the whole discussion is a waste of time. There is no way to prove (or disprove) your statement.

Which furthers my belief that this is the whole point. To foster a controversy that can never be solved.

If it is proven then yes, I’d agree.

Maybe. But technically has nothing to do with race.

That law has been changed, however, and rightfully so.

Forcing poor black kids to go to failing public schools instead of giving their parents a choice -- just because the teachers' unions are in the back pocket of the Democraps.

Everyone knows what the deal is whether they want to admit it or not. If racism dies, so does the Democrat Party. SO... It’s for that very reason that it can never die. It must live on.

Not explicitly racist like certain pre civil rights era laws, but as you say “rightfully” abolished, we can both agree the previous crack sentencing guidelines probably fit the definition of systemic racism.

Good to hear they’ve been abolished.

For it to be systemic, it has to be part of a system.

I'm open to other examples, but then it just turns into anecdotal stories of Company X is racist.

Systemic racism means it is ingrained in a system and cannot be overcome without great difficulty.

For it to be non-governmental, it would need to be a large system, like labor unions.
