...as a translator that got detained at JFK? I like the new ban, but I'm not thrilled this guy got detained.

That's fricking bullshite. He risked his life for the country. Let him in, and anyone who says otherwise is a xenophobic idiot.

Should've stayed in America, but he needs to be let in.

We've treated our translators poorly in general, both in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I have no clue how we are supposed to beat ISIS when suddenly Iraq is now an enemy.

DHS needs to create or enforce a clean vetting process and the ban will be lifted.

But let's not act like we haven't had radical Islamic terrorist working within our govt and attack us.

I assumed the point of the ban was to be able to vet entries. I would assume someone who worked for the military has been vetted so unsure why would have a problem letting him in.

Good to hear. Don't know how anyone would be against this.

He was vetted and released which is what this detention is all about. The Govt confirmed the interpreter role in Iraq, reviewed his social media, and made sure his green card status was still okay.

What is the problem with this? Media hasn't said a fricking thing about why he was released because it conflicts with their propaganda.

Get your damn panties out of a wad.

Sure his service record should be taken into account but that isn't a free pass to being a good person.

Ask those killed by Nidal Hasan.

Wasn't he the same guy who said he liked Donald Trump as he was being released from the airport?

Hasan was a coward. He had a couple free degrees paid for by the military, had never deployed, and was afraid even of the mention of deploying.

Darweesh spent years working with Americans that trusted him, he went through an already thorough process to ensure he could move here, and made noteworthy contributions in service to this country.

Comparing the two should be embarrassing.

That's the problem with the ban. It stopped people who already had visa's and green cards.

We have a great vetting process right now. Outside of the San Bernardino wife who came over there haven't been any post 9/11 entry real terrorists.
