I was watching live last night and told my wife this would be news today.
Looking at the thread... It wasn't the anthem, it was Taps being played as the colors were lowered.
Trump was not required to stand, stop nor address the colors being retired - the hangar is considered indoors.
The optics of the event look bad, but Trump was not wrong.
Leave it to left wing civilan snowflakes to melt over a non issue.

It wasn't taps, it was retreat but that doesn't change anything.
It was 100% optics and unfortunately, both sides have "agreed" to weaponize pure optics. I will say when you use the flag and soldiers in the background for optics you set yourself up for a situation like this. While Trump was not in ROTC, the Military or AFAIK the Boy Scouts or any other organization that would have clued him in to what was going on (other than Military school but that was a LONG time ago for him) someone on the staff should have been aware of things that happen at certain times on a military base when you are using the military as a backdrop, which was certainly carefully planned.

Technically you turn and face either the flag or the music but I honestly don't think Trump knew that, but he SHOULD get up to speed on his flag code given his recent positions regarding it.

Trump has broken the left and the msm.
First - The video cuts off as soon as they notice that something is going on in the background. So we don’t know if he actually kept talking. This feels like fake news bullshite.
Second - The people interviewing him kept talking as well. This further leads me to believe that it was just some background noise to them and no one recognized it as something other than someone just playing a song (which happens quite often around a President).
Third - It was Trump that interrupted the interview! Not the high and mighty media personnel.
Fourth - Trump didn’t appear to recognize it as taps. Noticed he asked for whom it was being played. He wouldn’t have done that if he could hear it well enough ... you may hate the guy be he’s not actually stupid and he did go to a military school.
Lastly - Let’s examine the argument you’re trying to make here: by associating Trumps actions with the kneelers, and calling Trump disrespectful for his actions (which appear fabricated in this case), you must also be calling the kneelers disrespectful. So, is the MSM and left finally admitting that the kneelers are being disrespectful?
Like I said, I don’t think that’s what happened here; therefore, calling Trump’s actions disrespectful is a false accusation.

Just to clear the music up that was NOT taps playing, that is played at "lights out". The music playing was retreat and is usually followed by To the Color or the Anthem which may or may not have happened here.
