...and Mueller found a financial crime?

Good point, But perjury about something in financials is probably what they are going for.

So they just get to look for that, without any probable cause that it ever happened?
Isn't that just fricking awesome!

In the letter, the lawyers claim the mogul has been under “continuous examination” by the IRS since 2002, “consistent with the IRS’ practice for large and complex businesses.” The letter also asserts that IRS examinations of Trump’s tax returns from 2002 to 2008 have been “closed administratively,” while its examinations of returns for the years since 2009 are “ongoing.”
The lawyers also claim that Trump’s recent tax returns are essentially extensions of his older returns, which include “items that are attributable to continuing transactions or activities that were also reported on returns for 2008 and earlier.” Translation: Even old returns that are not under audit can’t be released because they’re integral to what’s being currently audited.
Nice try. Even if Trump is being audited by the IRS, there’s no legal barrier to his releasing his returns just as every presidential nominee has done for 40 years—a point made recently by Warren Buffett, the billionaire investor who offered to release his under-audit returns if Trump would show his. Nothing in federal law or IRS regulations prohibits a person from sharing tax returns with the public. It is true that some attorneys might advise against it. But what’s not in dispute is the overwhelming public interest in the returns, which is why every presidential nominee and virtually all major party candidates since 1976 have released some of their returns.

IRS Commissioner John Koskinen said Friday that it would be unlikely for a taxpayer to be audited for multiple years in a row, a day after Donald Trump maintained the agency had audited him a dozen years running.
It would be rare for anyone to be audited every year,” Koskinen said in the interview, which will air Sunday. If there were no issues following an audit, Koskinen added, “it’s a number of years — two or three at least — before you hear from us again."
While companies can be subject to annual auditing by the IRS, it is extremely rare for that to happen to individual taxpayers, said Dave Kautter, a tax lawyer at the accounting firm RSM.
“If you’re audited ever year, the IRS is going to have a reason for it, and it could be one of a whole bunch of reasons,” he said.

All the shite has been a fricking joke. They are going to dig and dig and dig and dig until they find something. They are out to get Donald Trump and I wouldn't be surprised if they get him as much as I hate it.

Trump has consistently lied about his ties to Russia. He said there was no Russian collusion in the election-which is been debubked with her son and son-in-law meeting directly with the Russian officials. If he's done nothing wrong, tell your boy Trump to get the frick out of the way and let investigators do their job. Instead he's trying like hell to block everything they're doing.
You Trumpkins are gonna look even dumber after the dust is settled. your boy is guilty as the day is long. And in your heart you know it, I guess it just breaks your poor little heart to admit it.

The investigators are doing their job. But even if they don't find any "Russian collusion" they are going to get him for something. They are bound and determined. They are going to dig something up on him

Time to pay the piper Trump.

quote:Would all potential financial crimes be discovered in a typical audit? It seems some, if not many, financial crimes aren't under the typical purview of an IRS audit, and many crimes are related to things outside of the typical Financials themsleves and are discovered by investigations into other dealings.
So Trump has been audited by the IRS...EVERY YEAR...since like the 1980s...and Mueller found a financial crime?
In addition, knowing that the Russians use these types of transactions to hide and launder money, isn't it possible they have found criminal activity that is related to the transactions on the Russians part, but not necessarily any criminal activity on Trump's part?
I don't think the investigation into these matters means that the investigators must ignore criminal activities of the Russians and focus only the Americans.

First, the IRS guy Koskinen should have been fired by now for his defending and coverup of the Lois Lerner situation.
Second, having been audited 2 out of 3 years, I can tell you two things factually: 1) The above IRS guy Koskinen is a liar, and 2) You'd be incorrect

bullshite.

Most large corporations are audited frequently, sometimes many years running, and if they are publicly traded they are subject to lots of disclosure requirements that ordinary citizens aren't. Yet they commit financial crimes all the time without being caught in an IRS audit.

Yeah, so you do know an IRS audit isn't designed to identify financial crimes, right?

If he's done something wrong, we as Patriots should know.

I'm sure if they find Trump did anything wrong, he didn't intend to. Isn't that how Comey treated Hillary?
