Ok, so I am listening this "educational program" on our Fox affiliate by osmosis due to my daughter watching it. They are speaking about birds and one section they come on and talk about feathers being used to write old manuscripts...they mentioned something along the lines of how many feathers it took to write the Bible, Shakespeare, some other English literature, AND the Koran. Really? WTF? Why must they feel the need to include the Koran in their list? Is it THAT bad for you PC peeps these days already in the US? We know it will wind up there if you have anything to do with it, but are you that hard up to be "inclusive" to this extent with Muslims already?

Yea, I can't imagine why they'd talk about a large, old, and well known book there besides being pc...

He's not triggered and wailing like liberals, he's simply noticing PC foolishness.

I hate all things PC with a passion that may doom my soul.

But even I think this is too much of a stretch - it has nothing to do with PC at all. Hell, it's nothing but data.

Data cannot be racist and it cannot be PC.

methinks thou doest protest too much.

And you'll be the first one to use the term "snowflake."

When they mention the Bible, then right away mention the Koran right alongside it, you know exactly what they are getting at..."OMG, we can't say the Bible without mentioning the Koran to be inclusive"...you know good and well where this is heading and it starts with subtle inclusions such as this.

It's not that they said "Koran". It's that you KNOW why they mentioned it. It's the intent with stuff like this... I totally understand where the OP is coming from.

PC is everywhere and annoying as frick

But this doesn't really look like an example

If it is, it's a tiny one barely worth mentioning in the sea of worse examples

I agree. It's not an example of PC at all. It's using examples of the 3 to 4 books they are thick and most people know about.

So there are no Hindu or Chinese "large, old, well-known books" to cite.

Only certain groups have to be pandered to.

Exactly! The Koran mention was no accident. It did not randomly get mentioned. Furthermore, we have all seen these types of programs before growing up, I don't ever recall hearing any mention of the Koran with other literary works growing up. It is subtly being introduced however. We can just have ears to hear now to catch the references as they increase.

Another question I have is how many references to the Bible would show up on "educational programming" in majority Muslim countries that aren't also tied in to phrases like "death to America" or "we must slaughter the infidels"? I would hazard very few. They have no interest in joining/reciprocating our PC culture.

Meh it's the 3rd most printed and distributed book worldwide. It's not a bad example

So what??

So what??

We don't have to gauge our culture by their barbarism. We are clearly better. How many ways better doesn't matter.

Imagine how literally triggered he would be if they only mentioned Koran and omitted the bible, there would be 27 threads already.

So what? You tell me. Tell me why the PC crowd pines for this barbarism so fervently?

Besides, I wasn't gauging our culture and yes it is better, but you're muddying the waters and missing the point.

Triggered? I wasn't triggered at all...I just caught an anecdotal example to use when it was fresh to illustrate a point. Now the program was about birds as I mentioned but you don't have to be an ostrich. Also, I have maybe started 15 threads in the 7 years I have been on here so you either have me confused with someone else, speaking out of your arse, or a combination of the two.
