as long as there is a massive lock on it, go for it

making illegal immigration look like such a beautiful thing. what a shame.

this is the problem with illegal immigration; companies profiting off law breakers by breaking the law themselves. GREED driven profits at the expense of the nation. The owner of 84 should be investigated for hiring practices and heavily audited by the IRS

Home Depot ask the guy dropping 8k on drywall (and paying in cash) if he is legal?
Sounds like HD is the one doing well then. They didn't even have to pretend to like illegals in a commercial.

Mexican contractors own the roofing industry, painting, framing and drywall. They do better work for a fraction of the cost.
Can always tell the ignorants that have never worked in construction. They do faster work but there's a reason they only do the jobs that don't require as much attention to detail, because they will do a shitty job if they think they can get way with it. Mexican paint crew that did my brother's house still have to come out and fix their shoddy work three months after the house was "finished".

I've owned a construction company (residential) since 2013 and everything I said is true.
Your brother getting fricked over probably is on him not doing any diligence and jumping on a cheap price.
The only Anglo contractors I use, and I've been through many, are for electrical. Americans simply dont work as hard, and that presupposes 1. they show up 2. they arent drunk and/or stoned when they do show up.

Looks like one contractor has stepped up, and look at that, nothing is burned or damaged... LINK

Interesting comment from that twitter feed:

FOX simply told us it would be 2 controversial. And we respect that. A Super Bowl ad has to meet both our and the network’s needs.
(If you remember, the ad that aired referred you to a website to "witness the end of the journey")

Don't most legal immigrants hire a coyote, drag their child through the desert and hope for an unattended door in a wall that doesn't exist?
You meant illegal, but yeah, that's the case and then they do not mention that the coyotes bundle them up into groups, usually extort the families for a few thousand (U.S. none of the Mexican crap) and then move them through some pretty inhospitable terrain. That's after many of the females are passed around at gunpoint for the coyote's pleasure.

The 84 Lumber on South Choctaw in Baton Rouge has locks and a gate. Maybe I can cut a door in the side of their building tonight and take what I want.

"contractors" that buy material at Home Depot through the register are small time. Any bigger company isn't there at 6:30 waiting in line. They have the materials delivered through contract sales and billed to a commercial account. Those companies aren't owned by the illegals. I know because I do the same thing when I have to buy material from HD which isn't very often as their lumber is crap. They don't even have good 2x6s for framing. Just finger jointed bullshite.

Do you think Home Depot ask the guy dropping 8k on drywall (and paying in cash) if he is legal?
Is Home Depot not reporting that $8K? I fail to see your point here.

I've owned one since I was 21 in 2001. I can tell from your post that you have no idea what you are talking about.
I can stereotype the differences in hiring whites vs mexicans all day and those stereotypes would be based on reality unlike your hyperbole.

They are subs that use materials bought by the anglo contractors. They are simply providing the labor 98% of the time.
I have used Mexican labor as well but they ALWAYS have an anglo telling them what to do. Do they work hard? Yep. Can the be trusted to manage a job by themselves? There are exception but overall no.

Yeah, that wouldn't end well for you.

I agree with a Latino crew you have to inspect the work a lot more.
In California I had some American framers who had American crews. They could run a total station to layout the job, form up for the slab, and got with the plumbing to make sure the pipes were put in the right place. That sucks having to bust a slab to move a pipe once you frame.
I bought the materials and had a net 30 account. I did my own takeoffs and had the material delivered on certain dates. I also had my millwork ordered well in advance. Rarely if ever did I ever need to get anything from HomeDepot and Lowes. They also do not stick all the lengths of lumber like long length lumber and beams.
The contractors you are buying from Home Dpeot and Lowes are the small time guys or unlicensed guys doing small jobs.

About 35 years ago 84 open as tire in Lake Charled. They did not ask a lsingle local contractor to bid on the construction of their building . After they opened , they started calimg on the local contractors in an effort to sell them building supplies. No contractor would buy their materials. They closed after 5 years. So screw 84

You should do it, that's a good idea.

The wooden door is a metaphor for entering legally. 84 CEO is a Trump supporter.
