would republicans vote for a man who fiscally is what they want but who supports gay marriage and abortion

more often than not the answer is no, like I said "two way street"

No, they sure wouldn't...and they would stay home or throw away their vote to a third-party candidate who cannot win. Meanwhile, the other candidate who is a tax-and-spend Progressive and also supports gay marriage and abortion would win. Yay...

If that single issue is fiscal conservatism or economic fairness, then it makes sense. But it is far too limiting when it is something like gay marriage, reproductive rights, death penalty, quotas, gun rights, etc. (I didn't say abortion because that is a monster can of worms).

That is your opinion, which you are welcome to obviously.

This is how people who flee blue states turn red states purple/blue

This is starting to occur in Florida. We are one or two more elections from becoming a permanent Blue state in National elections. It is mostly hispanics doing the damage.

The PT Board is focused like a laser beam on the economy.

Unless the issue is gay marriage, which has a daily thread.

Or, any other shiny social topics that arise.

The only social issue I care about is abortion and I still wouldn't vote on that before economic and foreign policy.

I can understand if social issues are one of several factors to consider.

But voting solely on one or a handful of them, especially for a candidate with whom you disagree on other matters (such as the economy) is stupidity times infinity.

I wish more people would realize that in America today, how much of the people's money the federal government takes and spends is almost always our most important issue. Yes, many issues have value and must be discussed.

In my opinion, the biggest problem is that culturally we are in a time in which more people are more concerned with their Fantasy Football Team, who will win American Idol, or who is plowing the Kardashians than the issues.

They get their political news from Facebook, Twitter or a 2 paragraph article on Yahoo, and never really weigh the candidates against each other.

If a gay marriage supporter ran for president, and also happened to advocate for extermination of all people from Mississippi, toddy would still vote for him.

But I will say what really irks me is single issue voters that vote on issues unrelating to the election in question.
I agree. The only thing the president can do to really affect social issues is appoint supreme court justices. ALL social issues should be handled on the state level IMO.

We had the worst employment in years and a bad economy but the voters turned out to vote against the "war on women"

MOST people vote their pocket book or single issues, but in reality we should vote for "who is best for America". In this last election it was totally obvious who was better suited to handle a bad economy and high unemployment, yet that person was not elected.

Barry just issued another executive order from the golf course in Hawaii.

Later, he will decide what law not to enforce or defend in court.

But you are astute enough to understand that there is almost zero, and I mean zero, difference between the 2 parties on this issue?

The margins will argue for their points, however the bulk and leadership of BOTH parties want the money trough to continue to be filled.

The Federal government will not stop growing in our lifetimes, barring a complete collapse.

All I will say is the president takes an oath to uphold the laws of this country and if he does not there are measures that can be taken. We might have to many pu**y R's and too many blind D's to do anything about it though.

Agree and it flips depending on who is in the WH.

Folks, there is no way out barring a collapse. The Federal government will not voluntarily shrink and the people voting for more checks won't start sacrificing. Enjoy what you can while you are above ground.
