I hate suggestions to increase revenue for a government that overspends what they already have.

I support this policy!

Without quantifying it, it's just hot air. I can make up stuff too.

There are lots of studies I believe. Ask him for "link" or look for yourself if you have doubts.

Your doubts are just hot air without quantification. Works both ways.

Educate yourself.

Perhaps you'll prove my understanding worthy of reconsideration.

Hell, just go down through the voter registration records and find every registered rich Prog/Lib (over $500k) and make their base Federal income tax 75% with no deductions, we have to pay for their utopian society somehow and they would be setting a great example for the rest of us cold hearted conservatives.

Nowhere. But it isn't conservatives who are constantly looking for ways to increase taxes on everyone else.

Here's a devious thought. I mean, it would be totally unconstitutional and, no, I don't REALLY advocate for it.

But, wouldn't it be awesome if, when a tax increase is passed, there was some cool method for telling if a candidate you voted for voted for it.

Then, there would be a 2 year percentage surcharge on your tax bill. IE, each marginal rate would be maybe 1-2% higher for you than the base rate.

They really should. You could think of liberalism like smoking. Smokers pay high taxes on their behavioral choices. Television and other media outlets were banned from advertising the habit because they could influence younger people to take up the lifestyle and this cost them an income source, and that loss of income cost investors money, which then affected the general economy. Liberal ideas do the same thing when media can spread that unhealthy lifestyle and ideology. To "level the playing field" or to make things more "fair", liberal ideas should not be allowed to be encouraged. Heavy taxes on such ideologies would discourage taking up the habit. We need to do this for the children and future generations.

He made the statement, so he should back it up. I bet we can find statistics that show both are more giving. Its just an absurd statement that can not be proven. I mean, how do you begin to quantify that? What about independents?

Conservatives give to their church and very little of that goes to helping the poor (it's mostly for salaries and buildings and other things that the giver benefits from, which according the Bible is NOT charity.

I don't understand why they don't pay more voluntarily.

Most of the Rich with mainstream political ideologies, like Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, and many Hollywood personalities, have already assented to being willing to pay more taxes for infrastructure and social programs

Most of the posts on this board are simply mental masturbation. An idea pops into their heads and gosh, why don't we blah, blah, blah. And then there are the other morons who simply ask, "Why does the black barber shop down the street not cut white people's hair? Isn't that discrimination?" Oh and don't forget the one word geniuses with the "Melt" post. Real political scholars they are. I only come here because it makes me feel smart and I'm of average intelligence.

I think all libs property should be confiscated and they should be placed in "resorts isolated above the arctic circle until such time as their ideological position moderates to the point that they can be placed back in society.

I'd argue that many of them give more to charity than your average bear. Rich conservatives too for that matter.

They would voluntarily pay more if they were true to their principles.

Only because they can afford to be. How could you not see that? It's easy to have and preach to the have nots all the while surrounded by guards with guns, gated community, flying in private jets. These people aren't on your side.
