People on any form of govt welfare should be barred from voting.

I get that, but the so-called crazy check implies that one isn't competent.

So does welfare. If you aren’t competent enough to provide for yourself, you aren’t competent enough to vote.

People that put nothing in the collective kitty...should not be allowed to vote to take out that which they need. Much less assume such as a Moral Right. This is why the Founders abhorred pure Democracy; as it's like letting the kids decide what to do with Daddy's paycheck. Insanity. With societal collapse and the demise of the foolish weak not far behind. Mother Nature steps in when Wisdom and/or willpower fails.

Define crazy. Should someone suffering from PTSB after serving in Afghanistan be allowed to vote? Definitely.

I'd be in favor of temporary limiting voting rights for people who are beholden to the government for financial assistance. It's one of the reasons the founders generally wanted land-owning (or wealthy) men to be the only ones to vote: they didn't want people to be financially compromised and susceptible to having their votes "bought".

By the way they are treating 2A and applying those standards to all Rights: crazy people should not have any rights, all others should be required to take training, register, pass a background check, wait 3 days from registration before using said Right, and pay licensing and registration fees along with taxes on each right every use.

No. Which means Avoyelles would lose 75% of their registered voters.

If you aren't a net taxpayer in a certain district (whether federal, state, or local) you shouldn't be allowed a vote, for the same reason my 6 year old isn't allowed any input into what vehicle our family purchases.

If you're on public assistance, your voting privileges should be temporarily suspended until you can stand on your own

I've held this position for many years.

When you are able to support yourself, you are able to vote.

It would be interesting to view data broken down by age, sex, race for La, Ark, Ms, Al, and for good measure TX regarding “crazy check” % vs population.

It is almost as crazy as allowing congress to vote on term limits for their own seats.

Agreed. Welfare recipients have no skin in the game.
