Except mandatory leave won't accomplish this as well as ending the rewarding of nonproducer's reproduction with producers' tax money.

It costs a fortune either way. The only difference is whether family or profit comes first.

Other nations strangely enough have the belief its actually good to propagate their citizenry. Here - not so much. Probably because every conservative in the nation has a secret dream they were the only U.S. citizen and owned the entire nation.

TUba, many companies do provide paid maternity. It is an effective bargaining tool to get women to work for you.

The next time you refer to yourself as a liberal, look at the root word. If you're honest with yourself, you'll see that you really aren't one.

Good night.

Yeah, right, who the hell would want the liberty to stay at home with their newborn without having to take a cut in pay the time they need it the most? Only people with good jobs. The poors don't need it. They have the liberty to get the shaft when they have a kid. That's the kind of "liberty" you are referring to - the "liberty" to get treated like shite.

My wife is pregnant now and is due to have the baby around the end of April. She pays an extra $100 a month for out of pocket insurance plan that will pay her salary while maternity leave. She is a teacher so that basically means for a month then back to her regular salary in June.

I get two weeks vacation every year which I will use for paternity leave. I won't have any for the rest of the year.

It's called responsibility, take care of your life and the problems that arise.

Someone who can't afford the financial strain of taking time off probably shouldn't be having kids in the first place.

Poor people shouldn't have kids. I get it. That's what you think liberty is. I disagree.

No!

It's called PERSONAL responsibility! Get your mantra straight man!

What you're referring to includes all sorts of other kinds of responsibilities that folks of your ilk completely despise.

One thing in particular you are missing is lack of maternity leave for the poors = more government subsidies out of your pocket.

Not if my taxes pay for them. Having kids without the resources to provide for them is irresponsible.

Not that libs care about that. Keep fricking, Tuba will pay for it.

companies should be mandated to pay for everything. there should be no limit to what the government should be able to force upon its citizens

o and btw, Americans already subsidize Bulgarians' everything

Mine! Mine! That's mine! Dat MINE!! It MINE! (my two year old imitating Mac - though I doubt Mac pays much in taxes being part owner of a mostly cash business)

Like I said. Poors are irresponsible. Filthy poors. We don't need them or their children! We can dig all the ditches ourselves! (with cheap immigrant labor)
