It is almost unfathomable. 81 million Americans were on board with this?

He got 81 million votes, but 81 million people did not vote for him.

Many of those were simply against Trump.

Trump is going to face the same issues in 2024. Lots of traditional Republicans will refuse to vote for him in the general. That's why we keep seeing MAGA rejected over and over again in elections across the country, and why it has such a small foothold in actual elected positions nationally.

Ballots, not votes.
He got 81 million ballots.

Keep telling yourself that.

And explain how he magically got more votes in 20 than 16 genius

And these people will be responsible for the end of the republic, assuming it's not already too late to be saved.

The turnout in 2020 was insane, on both sides.

Trump ran it up in major GOP areas, which does him no good with the Electoral College.

He has to win the contested purple districts, which are where droves of moderate/traditional Republicans reject him.

This happened in 2018, 2020, and 2022. MAGA has only been effective in one national election: 2016. That's why they are so sparsely represented in Congress and the Senate.

If you spend all of your civics discussion in the echo chamber that is the Poli board, I can see how this doesn't make sense to you

Yes tell us more about how Lynne Cheney, Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, et al are doing in the country. The Rinos are having such a good year!!!

It's time to stop pretending that MAGA is some radicals that invaded the republican party while the honest hard working GOPe Rinos are the safe holdouts. This is not Star Wars, Mitt and Paul are not Yoda and Luke, Utah and suburban Ohio are not Hoth. They do not have jedi powers, just large corporate donations from the same big companies that bought BLM management some huge mansions in LA.

Explain the interest in Biden without saying Trump? Sitting circles like pre-schoolers? Sitting outside with masks? We have this many braindead sheep here?

MAGA's bad, Tea Party is bad... Gotta find "acceptable", "electable" candidates, ie Cassidy, Romney, McCain. There's a lot I don't like about Trump but I don't see another candidate on the horizon that isn't the same bought and paid for Republicrat politician like the other 537 elected politicians that have been working against the American people for decades. Show me one, I beg of you.

Why?

Biden was specifically chosen to be a counter to Trump.

2020 was a referendum on Trump. Biden is a listless vessel in the process. A "milk toast" (as Trump would say) face for the DEMs.

The original Tea Party was great, until the religious zealots hijacked it.

MAGA wants way too big of a government to be compared to the Tea Party.

You do need to have guys win elections in a democracy.

Massive establishment push.

Feds covered for him.
Entire sports leagues supported him.
News Media carried his water and even made St Floyd's OD racial.
The Music Industry sided with him.
Hollywood sided with him.
Social Media curated stories and filtered comments for him.
Colleges backed him.
The Union responsible for picking up/delivering the mail in ballots openly supported him.
Even many powerful Republicans supported him.

the poster makes a valid point. We should listen to the MSM who get their instructions on what to report from government intelligence agencies. Everyone now can obviously see hunters laptop was Russian disinformation and was rightly withheld from the public. That's what freedom of the press is all about not these right wing conspiracy echo chambers

Ballot stuffing works.

And there’s no reason to think they won’t try to again if no one has been held accountable.

Matters made worse when even members of his own party were on board with the steal.
