You’re not focusing on the things YOU can control
Once you realize the shite YOU’RE in charge of (kids, personal relationships, work, finances, health) is ok all the rest of that shite is just background noise. None of the things I just listed will ever be perfect but effort and at least attempting continuous improvement goes a long way.

My wife works from home and loves it. Her office isn't even in the same state, and we live way out in the country. Her commute is about 200 feet, it's awesome lol.

There is none. Our government is completely divorced from the Constitution and our nation is headed toward crisis - it will be the crisis that destroys our nation and subjugates us all, or the crisis to rescue our nation and return to the Constitution, or perhaps both.
Ballot box is still available to us in November. If we don't unify and reject incumbents in November, the ballot box might never again be available to us.
Things are going to get worse, probably a lot worse, before they get better. We're just going to have to accept this reality.
