The problem is every action taken by the GOP and the Dems are reported in completely different ways. All we hear today in that the GOP is the "party of NO" is blocking progress. However, no where is the reporting of the Dems blocking legislation because they believed Bush did not have a mandate.

If the GOP sues Obama over the executive orders, the Dems will cry to the media and the media will run with it. It doesn't matter the merits of the case or that the GOP believes they are defending their rights as a check on the executive branch. The media will report them as the bad guys and the sheeple will follow right along.

Congress was NOT established as a rubber stamp to what the President wants. It was established, along with SCOTUS, to be a check on the executive branch. It is not suppose to be easy to pass legislation. It should be debated. There should be no time table on any legislation, no matter the merits of any legislation.

I would love to see the GOP take the Senate in '14, and then if a vacancy comes up on the Supremes, change the nuclear option to include the USSC." I hear you, but retribution typically begets more retribution. I would prefer a high road approach in which the GOP restores the Senate rules, hopefully putting Reid's dirty tricks in the same category as FDR's attempt at court packing.

You are assuming that there are honourable people in the Democrat Caucus. I'm afraid they were drummed out long ago.

They are obsessed with gaining power and keeping it. Not 1 Dem has called out Obama on his abuse of power. Even that old fraud, Robert Byrd would not have stood for this. The Dems in Congress are willing to cede power to the Executive, as long as he is a member of their Party. I've never seen that in any time in the History of the US. Congress has always been jealous of its prerogatives. They are willing to weaken a co-equal branch of government in order to achieve their political goals. Unreal.

What exactly is the lesson here?

Why should the GOP not take this issue to court?

The party of no continues to self-immolate.
