Always.

Class warfare is easy for people who think rich people didn't work to get that way.

Then the billionaire in town stops starting new businesses because of his increased taxes, closes up the businsses he has in town, and most of the town’s citizens become unemployed.

You are correct

because the mass of people from about $50K to about $500K a year is where the money is.

If you took ALL the money from ALL the billionaires you could run the government for 6 months tops.

And that's your choice to do so. Not the government chopping off one of your arms to make things more equitable for the armless guy.

30% is almost 1 in 3. That's a lot. And that's just counting people, not the weight of the money inherited. 30% of people could have inherited half the pot of net worth.

Secondly, billionaires are not like the rest of us. Most were born with off the charts IQs or abilities (inherited) or have had tremendous luck (not earned). Bill Gates grew up right down the street from one of the only places in the world that had the computer program he would have needed to get where he is.

Gates, Jobs, and the other tech. billionaires all have similar stories, despite being "self-made." Suffice it to say, they were just as lucky as the were talented.

That's not how it works. To use your example, the government would be taking one arm off of a guy with 1,000 of them to give to the guy with none. Plus, nobody pays anywhere near a 50% effective rate unless they have a hell of a lot more money than sense.

Ok, let's assume that's true, why do you feel entitled to steal most of their money?

I give a good deal to charity and I help out others in my family who have less. I also don't take every tax break I could and do my best to support companies that foster a better world.

So you send in more taxes to the government each paycheck than is required, right?

You can probably just tell them to keep any refund for overpaying.

You know, cause you “feel” you should pay a higher rate.

I say frick em’. They get more than enough already.

And if you “feel” I need to pay more, frick you too.

Ultra-wealthy people should use their money to benefit society as a whole, but most of them don't because most people are self-interested, as nature intends. This leads to greed and inequality that would not exist in a more ideal world. I think we should use their money to build roads/trains/airports, educate people, and provide for people who risk their lives for our security. It's more of a Robin Hood situation.

I don't send "extra" money. I just don't participate in questionably ethical/moral tax avoidance, which is quite common. Basically, I could get away with paying a lot less by using tax loopholes, so to speak. How much tax a person owes is not black and white.
