Rob - you're anti-gun - what do you think the point is of mentioning it was "high capacity" but did not have an extended magazine?

I apologize for getting stuck on this point, but I'm trying to understand how that factoid (and to what end) made it into the final story...

I mean, it was a Beretta pistol and the kid got off ~6 shots. I don't get it.
