If Americans can't see whats happening, the divide, the rhetoric, the fear from the left, then, they're just frick'n stupid. That goes for both sides, what ever that is.

I think he is at his worst when discussing morality and ethical schemes because he comes across, and I believe is admitted to, not being well read on the mountains of literature humanity has put forward to try and grapple with the subject. It leads to him putting forward thinly veiled utilitarianism as a novel concept in The Moral Landscape, as if humanity hadn’t formalized utilitarianism and it’s flaws for centuries.

I didn't realize that but it explains a lot. He frequently acts as if he's presenting something novel and I could never figure out why. Because to him, it is.

That said, IQ isn't a bulwark against mass formation psychosis. On 9 out of 10 subjects, Sam likely has a lot of insight to offer. Unfortunately for him, the most discussed topics today are political topics, and they tend to fall in the 1 out of 10 subjects he can't help but repeat woke response too.
About the only thing I can think of that Sam doesn't take a woke stance on is Islam. Even he admits that while Christianity might believe in myths, they're no where near as destructive as what Islam believes in.

Sam Harris basically has a bigger problem with Trump than his “character”. He believes Trump is a dangerous dummy who has dragged America down to his level. He also went in record saying he’s not a Biden or Clinton fan. He also said that he agreed with policies on the right and the left.
Also, to call foundational right of center policies as “Trump’s” policies is like saying the NRA invented guns.

I never suggested he was, I just don’t think he’s in rarified air. He’s not particularly intellectually curious or capable of introspection like Peterson, he’s certainly not a visionary like Jobs or Musk. He’s well above average but I could go to any of several top ten universities and pluck his equal or better out of grad school. He’s on the far right side of the bell curve, no question, but he’s not in the section that his standing would suggest. He’s celebrity-smart, like Black Science Man.
