It shouldn't. But the FACT PotatoBrain (aka "The Big Guy") was on the take from the CCP should have changed his mind. Nothing about PotatoBrain's scumbag kid is directly relevant, but everything about PotatoBrain is.

If these people truly believed that Trump was Hitler then they absolutely should be breaking laws to stop him.

I would be disappointed in anyone not willing to go the distance to stop Hitler.

Trump is "Hitler" to them, bc he was trying to frick up one of the greatest hustles in the history of the world.

They've made this world a place where they can get away with anything, and they aren't going to risk "Hitler" fricking up the world they built.

We've made the people who tried to kill Hitter into heroes. Tom Cruise made a movie about it.

Those people were certainly breaking laws in Germany, yet they are heroes and patriots.

I am very consistent here. I consider the January 6 protestors as patriots too.

If one truly believed that the election was being stolen and a type of coup was happening then you should be doing what you can to save the Republic.

I would expect that of you no matter if your belief was mistaken.

Traitors and patriotic rebels are often the same person, distinguished only by their success or failure. And in case there's any doubt, the traitors are inside (and of course outside) our government all the way up to the Oval Office, and Jan. 6 was just the beginning of patriots standing up against the tyrants who call themselves "America" but are, in fact, the Enemy.

The thing is I don’t think Harris would not have much of a problem with DeSantis becoming President. The fact that DeSantis is a Harvard and Yale graduate and served in the military means a lot to someone like Sam Harris. Even on Maher’s show last week, Maher was visibly pissed at the FBI and Garland saying that they fricked this up and now Trump is going to be the nominee over DeSantis.

Hey y’all, you do know he has almost all of Trump’s same policies, right? Like everyone in the IDW including those on the Left are fans of DeSantis, but they let Trump’s rhetoric blind them to what’s truly going on. Even Sam will have to admit that Trump wouldn’t have done anything as stupid as abandon Bagram for the Kabul Airport which has a single runway and is downtown in a crowded city.

Sam Harris’ response to clip: Twitter

quote:

There is a podcast clip circulating that seems to be confusing many people about my views on Trump (which is understandable because I wasn’t speaking very clearly). So, for what it’s worth, here is what I was trying to say:

I was essentially arguing for a principle of self-defense (where there’s a continuum of proportionate force that is appropriate and necessary to use). I’ve always viewed Trump as a very dangerous person to elect as president of a fake university, let alone the US, and when he became a sitting president who would not commit to a peaceful transfer of power, I viewed him as more dangerous still. (However, I’ve never been under any illusion that he is Orange Hitler.)

On the podcast, I was speaking narrowly about the wisdom and propriety of ignoring the Hunter Biden laptop story until after the election. I’ve always thought that this was a very hard call, ethically and journalistically. But given what happened with the Anthony Weiner laptop in the previous election, I think it was probably the right call.

Nothing I said on that podcast was meant to suggest that the Democrats would have been right to commit election fraud or take other illegal measures to deny Trump the presidency (nor do I think they did that).

Oh frick’s sake Sam. This is YOUR, yours personally, definition of self defense. My version of self defense is we need a President who is cognitive on the most basic level as we’re learned with our domestic policy, Afghanistan, and Ukraine, as I’m sure you’ll have to reluctantly agree with.

If Media Matters got to define their version of self defense, they would throw both you and I in jail for the defense of Muslims and trans people since we’re both vocally against Islamism and mutilating children. Do you not see where that ends, Sam?

The overreaction to these personalities based on a single view is something to behold.

OP is a prime example of this.

Wait.

This guy is an oracle to many. He styles himself as the “adult in the room” as he compares Trump to “an asteroid colliding with the earth”. Why should he not be condemned for this take on a man who can’t wear a long tie without the fricking sky falling?

He needs to hold himself to his own standards. The criticism is fair.

ETA: unpack this a bit. One side of his mouth tells us that Trump is an existential threat to democracy. The other says, let’s rape democracy to prevent him from being duly elected. I guess intellect and integrity are not mutually exclusive.

Those with TDS can never describe any corruption.

As opposed to the corruption of the Brandon regime and inside trading of Pelousy Family.

One of the things Harris has always said, and I think it's true, is that smart people can find enumerable ways to convince themselves of untrue things. This fits Harris to a "T" when it comes to Trump.

Harris is being honest about intelligent people denying the Truth and embracing the lie. Harris knows this from personal experience by his denial of the existence of our Creator.

I always get a chuckle when anyone who supports Trump wholeheartedly suddenly finds a need to hold anyone to any standards.
