Yep. It will be Scalise. It has already been decided.

If Scalise plays 4-d underwater chess he might not run for it.

Let McCarthy have it which will turn into being the minority leader. When the rabble turns (and they will) he steps in and becomes Speaker when they inevitable gain back the majority.

Damn it. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

I say this and Scalise is my rep.

Albeit theoretically possible I don't see a senator being elected by the House to the Speaker position.

Yeah, I don't appreciate this being labeled as "forced," the more appropriate term would be persuaded, convinced, inclined, disposed, etc

As they should be. In general the GOP has nothing to run on except tax cuts. That's good and all but they have not separated themselves from the Democrats except for that one issue. And in the heartland Democrat reps agree with Trump on trade more than the Republican reps. Furthermore the Reps and the Dems are exactly the same on Obamacare, open borders and budget spending.

The GOP hasn't really given people something to vote for except tax cuts that are in the rear view mirror and they are not Democrats. People are not motivated to voted for what you've done for me in the past they are motivated by what will you do for me in the future. What does the GOP stand for? IDK.

Is Scalise as snarky as McCarthy in schmoozing POTUS? I have always heard Scalise was on team Trump from the beginning. Is it true? It is so hard to trust anyone after the young guns were recruited by the GOPe.

I am hoping for Meadows. Anyone actually NOT in the good ole boys club.
