I flipped over but didn't catch very much.
What did they say?

You mean a piece on Russian hits.

We do as much, or even more, dirt around the world than the Putin regime. We have been at war continuously since 2001 and have conducted near clandestine bomb campaigns in over a half dozen countries since 2001.
Additionally, the U.S. government also has implemented the largest and most comprehensive domestic surveillance apparatus in world history.
We are better at being Russia than Russia and have absolutely zero cause to try and position ourselves as the morally superior regime.

They'll probably follow that segment with one glorifying Merkel and praising the EU.

I don't understand this board's raging boner for Putin. He is the antithesis of everything they claim to believe.

Oh my god! Russia having corrupt murderers! What's next? The Catholic Church has pedophile priests?
Answer me this, you dumbass, why is Russia suddenly the good guys? It's bizarre to me. You do know they'll stab us in the backs the first chance they get. The press is doing their jobs here.
They're not our friends and you have to be incredibly stupid to think they are.

The problem isn't that Russia are the good guys, it's that our press is as neutered as their's when it comes to critically examining our country's policies. You don't need to murder journalists to get them to tow the line.
CBS is as much a mouthpiece for government (deep state) propaganda as is Russian state television. Their political programs trot out the same Washington establishment political figures to argue for American military intervention and criticize those who are themselves critical of the surveillance state.
The biggest threat to America is American politicians, not some Russian boogeyman. But it's easier to blame our problems on a foreign monster rather than look in the mirror and analyze your own country's shortcomings.

It is not that Russia is any sort of 'good' guy. It is that the media and left are trying to use the 'Russians' to take down the President of the United States. I am sure you see no malice in the journalistic and political onslaught.

It's not that people want them as our friends, it's that we have some mutual interests and maybe we shoot stop shooting off our foot to frick with them.
They are the exact same as any other country, they will do what ever is in their self interest and only that. Let's not act like we haven't been doing the exact same but with even more emphasis. We armed the afgans to frick Russia; bites us in the arse, we armed "Syrian rebels" to get a leader more friendly to us which bit Europe in the arse.

We wouldn't tolerate Putin as our Leader, RK; but he probably best reflects the Russian People's hardcore nature.
What we Trump supporters don't like is the MSM anti-Trump 'Russian Meme', and the idea that we can trust or have more in common with Islamism than the Russians. So we dispute the Russian Meme...not really defend Putin. That guy is a ruthless KGB operative.
And of course, 60 Minutes next piece was a Gitmo Detainee/Muslim apology. Predictable. They've lost cred. Whoopee!

Nations don't have friends they have interests.
There is no way we should not be able to work with Russia. Russia has twice been invaded by the West. They lost 26 million dead in World War Two. They didn't invade us or our allies. That surely affects the way they view the world. The USSR was expansionist. Russia is not, or not in the same way. What they do have is internal security issues similar to ours. We should work with that.

In fact Stalin refused to believe in 1941 that Hitler was attacking Russia. There was a non-aggression pact between the two countries. Stalin had refused to allow any fortification of the border despite the gathering Storm at the border.
History as always is our guide. You can't blame the Russians for looking out for their best interests.

Israel is our worst enemy and the worst threat to our future.
The reason is because its policies stoke perpetual war. We have to break that up.

Obama and Hillary were the ones that told us Russia was the good guys. Remember the reset button? Or obama's super clever witty retort mocking Romney "the 1980s called and want their foreign policy"?
